UKS2 – Newsletter – 31.01.2020

It has been an exciting week in UKS2. In English, we have been developing background knowledge for our own sci-fi narratives. To do this, we have watched a clip from Star Wars and role-played the scene in  groups. We have been exploring how the thoughts and feelings of the characters changed, as well as formulating descriptions of the futuristic setting.

In cross-curricular, Year 6 pupils completed a Road Safety Workshop with local PCSOs. The children were asked to identify illegally parked vehicles in the school’s vicinity and assist the officers in their role. A number of tickets were issued and we hope that people park safely in the future!

Finally, this morning we hosted our space parent event. It was fantastic to see so many of you joining in and having fun whilst completing some of our history, science and ICT activities. We hope you enjoyed the opportunity to see how we make the curriculum more engaging and interactive for our pupils. Thank you to all the parents who attended!
