UKS2 – Year 5 & 6 – Cross Country

Yesterday, a small group of children went to Otley to attend a cross country competition against other schools in the local area. Some of these children have been running cross country as an alternative PE option on Fridays with Miss Chambeers so it was a fantastic oppurtunity for them to experience a competition. The children ran  1500m around Wharfedale Meadows in Otley. After some light rain in the morning, it made some parts of the field particularly challenging for the children but they did brilliantly. Their enthusiasm, support and encouragement for each other was brilliant to see. We had lots of red, happy faces by the end of the afternoon and we are now eagerly waiting for the official results to come through!

The afternoon was thoroughly enjoyed by all and we look forward to next year!
