Year 3 – Drama workshop with Ralph Thoresby 25.02.25

Year 3 pupils had the very special opportunity to experience a drama workshop led by Year 10 pupils from Ralph Thornsby. Some of these were ex-pupils from Cookridge, so it was wonderful to hear about their drama lessons and the reasons why they enjoy this subject. First, we watched a performance by the Year 10 pupils to see the different acting methods they use and to get an understanding of what they would produce within their drama lessons. We then completed games to warm up both our bodies and minds and we discussed how this helped to boost our confidence ahead of completely drama tasks ourselves. 

We worked in groups to use the theme ‘worst holiday ever!’ to create our own short sketch. The Year 10 pupils worked with each group to help us incorporate props, lighting and acting techniques into our performances. After we watched each group showcase their sketch, we used ‘2 stars and a wish’ to provide constructive feedback.
