Year 3 – Fire Skills Session – Forest School
This afternoon pupils in Year 3 got the opportunity to recap their fire lighting skills in preparation for our Forest School next week where we will be using fire to cook food outside. Pupils learnt how to safely use flint and steel to create a spark and then set a piece of cotton wool on fire. Their next challenge was to create different fire lays suitable for the type of cooking or fire they needed. Pupils worked together to problem solve and communicate efficiently to create a range of fire lays including the tepee, cabin and altar. Well done Year 3!
