Year 4 – Forest School

We’ve had great weather today for our session in the Forest School area. Building on our skills and knowledge of risk and risk management, children discussed the risk, danger and how to manage this safely across all the equipment we have in our garden area to ensure we keep ourselves and each other safe. We then used the slack line and tree house safely, adhering to the rules and measures we put in place. We could also use the mud kitchen and sandpit for imaginative play which opened up a lot of conversation and discussion around different ideas and things we could create, including castles with underground dungeons and sand animals! We also had the opportunity to practice our fire skills by using flint and steel to create mini fires in our fire pit – once again managing their risk whilst doing so. Well done Year 4!
