Year 4 Swimming

Dear Parent/Carer,

Year 4 SWIMMING LESSONS

All Year 4 children will start weekly swimming lessons from Wednesday 11^th September and these will take place at Holt Park Active Centre. The children will walk to the centre at 1.00pm for the lesson starting at 1.30pm. Please ensure that your child has suitable footwear and a coat each week as we will be walking to the centre in all weathers. The children will also wear a Cookridge Primary “Hi-Viz” jacket for safety.

Your child will need suitable swimwear (full swimming costume, not bikini, for girls and swimming trunks or shorts, not three quarter length, for boys), a large towel and a large, strong, waterproof bag, preferably a ruck sack. It is helpful for girls with long hair to have an additional smaller towel or towelling turban to wrap their hair in whilst changing. We would appreciate it if all items could be named please. No shampoo, shower gels or deodorants are allowed.

The swimming lessons are a statutory part of the National Curriculum and it is important that all of the children attend them regularly. If, for some reason, your son or daughter is unable to attend a lesson, parents must provide a written letter to explain why or see the child’s class teacher.
