Year 4 – Viking Crafts – Forest School

Pupils in Year 4 continued to develop their weaving skills in the build up to over Viking Days at the end of the month. We revisited two different techniques from last session which the Vikings used for weaving bracelets, jewellery and clothing. First, children tried weaving using a loom created on a Y-shaped stick to practice the movement of over/under. In addition, pupils had the opportunity to continue their development of using Viking trollen craft wheels to create braids meanwhile some pupils became the teachers and taught others to plait using three different colours to make bracelets.
