Year 6 Children’s Return to School

Dear Parents/Carers

Currently we are still expecting to receive Year 6 children on Monday the 15th June. You will be contacted by a member of staff tomorrow to ascertain which children will be returning. For those who are attending, this post is designed to bullet point the most important things children need to remember on their first day back:

  • Clean uniform daily – If this is not possible clean clothes daily
  • A full bottle of water
  • Packed lunch – School will not be providing any school lunches
  • NO equipment is needed from home or any show and tell items
  • Coat – appropriate to the weather
  • Any New medication that needs to be administered by staff, needs to be prearranged with the office prior to starting the the day.
  • Any inhalers from home need to be brought in with the children to the first day back or entry will be refused.
  • If children are late for their group’s drop of time they will not be allowed to enter school as it could compromise other groups’ bubbles. (Parents will be contacted tomorrow to inform you of what group your child will be in and their drop of and pick up times).
  • Please share with your children some of the procedures from the previous ‘Important Information’ posts (See links below):

Important information for Years 1, 6 and Reception

Year 1 & 6 – Potential daily routines

  • No child exhibiting any signs of Coronavirus should attend school:

high temperature – this means you feel hot to touch on your chest or back (you do not need to measure your temperature)

new, continuous cough – this means coughing a lot for more than an hour, or 3 or more coughing episodes in 24 hours (if you usually have a cough, it may be worse than usual)

loss or change to your sense of smell or taste – this means you’ve noticed you cannot smell or taste anything, or things smell or taste different to normal

Please use the NHS guidance if you are unsure: https://www.nhs.uk/conditions/coronavirus-covid-19/symptoms/

  • If your child has attended school and is showing symptoms of Coronavirus keep them at home and please contact the school to let us know about their absence.
  • If a child is sent home with suspected symptoms of Coronavirus then all parents in their Group/Bubble will be contacted so parents can make an informed decision whether they will send their child in the next day. If the child tests positive, we will ask all children in that Group/Bubble to self isolate for 14 days.
